"I visited a nearby historic cemetery with many old tombstones, etc. In the military section there's a statue commemmorating a young local officer killed in WWI. Someone had fastened a rose to the trigger of the gun. It contrasted nicely with the gray of the statue and spoke of remembrance."
"I used a Nikon D300 (digital) body with a pinhole in the body cap. While the capture was in color, all but the rose was some shade of gray."
