"I liked the negative image of this self-portrait a lot better than the positive. I'm leaning against my car with a Poinciana tree in the background. You can barely make out my glasses, sitting in the middle foreground. This was done at a free workshop held in Lihue on Worldwide Pinhole Day."
"Our teacher had all the cameras ready for us. He made them from cardboard mailing tubes with a piece of aluminum can for the "shim" and electrical tape for the shutter. My friend opened and shut the shutter for me. I sat very still for 35-second exposure in partial shade."
