"This photograph captures the tragic reality faced by cyclists who lose their lives on busy roads. I chose to photograph this subject to raise awareness about the alarming rise in bicyclist fatalities, which have increased by over 40% since 2010, with adult male cyclists particularly affected. Many of these deaths occur in urban areas where cyclists share dangerous spaces with motor vehicles, often without proper safety measures like helmet use. By highlighting this issue visually, I hope to draw attention to the urgent need for improved road safety, better infrastructure, and greater respect for cyclists to prevent these avoidable tragedies."
"For this photo I used the camera FUJI HX1 nd the lens SKINK PINHOLE F110. Shot speed 1/30, ISO 1250.
The weather was good, plenty of light, but the traffic conditions were very dangerous due to the speed and proximity of the cars."
