"My attention was drawn to an old tree whose branches moved in the wind, with sunlight filtering through them. I was fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow created by the branches. I chose this subject because pinhole photography allows not only the image itself to be captured, but also the passage of time. A longer exposure recorded the subtle movement of the branches, giving the photograph a more atmospheric, painterly quality."
